The first Sutton Ex-Servicemen's Club Flower & Vegetable Show took place in the Club itself on Sunday 5th September 1965 with an initial total prize fund of eleven pounds and eleven shillings - with four trophies being awarded to the various winners.

The Show continued on an annual basis until 1973 with the stage in the Club, which at the time was a large semi-circular one, being decorated with gardens and a stunning water feature which provided a much discussed centerpiece.

For various reasons no show was staged in the mid 70's but what was a much loved and sadly missed village event returned to the calendar in 1977 and there has been a show each year since, except for the COVID years.
