RULES
NAME AND OBJECT
The Sutton Ex-Servicemen’s Club Flower & Vegetable Show,
promoted to foster and encourage local interests in horticulture and handicrafts.
ENTRIES
All persons intending to exhibit must submit their entry forms
by 10:00pm on Friday 30th August 2024 - but the sooner you can let us have your entry forms the better.
Please note that the Club will be open from 7:00pm to 10:00pm on Friday 30th August to receive completed entry forms.
If you would like to submit your entry form beforehand, please deliver/post to the Show Secretary :-

COMPETITORS
Competitors will be allowed to stage as many exhibits as they desire in any one class, but may take only one cash prize in any one class.
VASES, CONTAINERS, ETC.
Competitors may provide themselves with suitable vases and containers for flowers, vegetables etc.
However the Society will make plates and vases available and competitors are encouraged to use these wherever possible.
RECEPTION AND STAGING OF EXHIBITS
The exhibition marquee will be open from 7:00am until 11:00am on Sunday 1st September to receive exhibits in all classes.
The marquee will be cleared of all exhibitors at 11:10am prompt.
JUDGES DUTIES
The Judges will commence to make their awards at 11:15am, and no other persons except those so appointed will be allowed in the marquee whilst judging is in progress.
AWARDS
The Judge may decide not to award a prize if they consider the specimens shown in any class to be unworthy or if in any class there are fewer exhibits than prizes offered.
JUDGES DECISIONS
The Judge’s decision will be final except in cases where after an award has been made, an exhibit is found not to comply with these rules and regulations.
When totalling the most points in each section,
1st prize is awarded 3 points, 2nd - 2 points & 3rd - 1 point
In the event of a tie the competitor with most 1st prizes will be adjudged the winner.
REMOVAL OF EXHIBITS
Exhibits must not be removed from the display before 4:30pm on the day of the Show. Any exhibit remaining after 4:45pm will become the property of the Society.
Although the Committee will take all reasonable care whilst exhibits remain in the exhibition marquee, they will not be responsible for loss or damage to produce, vases or any other containers which may occur.
DISPOSAL OF EXHIBITS
Sale of produce given for that purpose will take place at
Sutton Ex-Servicemen’s Club at 9:00pm on Sunday 1st September.
PAYMENT OF PRIZE MONEY
Prize money can be collected from show officials from 4pm on the day of the Show. Any monies not collected by the end of the day will be deemed as being donated to the Society.
